Behavioral and Developmental Pediatrics

The Behavioral-Develpmental Pediatrics Clinic, directed by Dr. Johanna Fricke, evaluates and treats children with Behavioral and Developmental problems including: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Syndrome, Autism, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, and developmental delay. The clinic is the only clinic staffed with a Board Certified Behavioral-Developemental Pediatrician in the valley.

Dr. Fricke extended her community service as the only Board Certified Behavioral Developmental Pediatrician in Southern Nevada by accepting an appointment on the Governing Board of Desert Willow Hospital. She continued her leading role in state and local organizations as Commissioner, Nevada Mental Health and Developmental Services, Consultant to the High-functioning Autism/Asperger's (HFA/Aspergers's) Support Group and Parents Encouraging Parents as a liaison with Partners in Education.

Dr. Johanna Fricke trains our Pediatric Residents in Behavioral-Developmental Pediatrics, during their required rotation in that specialty, in combination with Dr. Julie Beasley, a neuropsychologist.

Dr. Fricke collaborated with Dr. Colleen Morris in the Division of Clinical Genetics on genotype-phenotype correlation with Williams Syndrome and in the Development of a Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Clinic. In 2004, Dr. Fricke was honored by the Consumer's Research Council as one of "America's Top Pediatricians."

Dr. Fricke and Dr. Julie Beasley are part of the medical team at the Lili Claire Family Resource Center. Dr. Fricke and Dr. Beasley hold a clinic there which focuses on behavioral, developmental, and educational concerns and provides assessment and recommendations for intervention.
