Adolescent MedicineDr. Caroline Barangan is director of the Adolescent Medicine clinic. Adolescent Medicine focuses on the general and specific needs of adolescents or teens between the ages of 12 to 21 years old. Adolescence is a period of change and transition, both physically and psychologically. While, in general, teens are physically healthy, they may have other issues, many sensitive, that need to be talked about and evaluated. In general, Dr. Barangan provides physical exams, sports physicals, immunizations, and gynecological exams. In addition, services are provided for the specific issues of development/puberty, acne, behavioral, school difficulties, menstrual problems, gynecological issues, sexually transmitted infections (testing and treatment), substance abuse, mental health, and reproductive health. | |
